..Organic, regular, free range, but this is first that I’ve heard of ‘herbal organic’ eggs. What does that even mean? The hens are fed herbs? Anyone who can enlighten me?
I have heard of this one too.. apparently they claim that the birds are given natural feed in the sense that the feed is supposedly totally organic in nature wherein it does not contain any animal or non vegetarian product.
According to their website ” …. there are more than 16 herbs which are being used along the feed of layer bird. The residues of the herbs are transferred to the eggs which are helpful for the immune system, digestion system and liver of our body. Extra Vitamins and Minerals are added to the feed as per breeder henβs requirement. Therefore, our eggs are rich in additional vitamins and minerals for better health…..”
I guess the hens are fed grains that have been grown in a completely organic manner. Also, I saw on a TV program that in order for the hens to give ‘organic eggs’, they are brought up in a very free manner – not like a typical hen coop. No pressure or force is laid on them, and so the eggs are of better quality, supposedly.
It is like you are sitting in a hotel contemplating what to eat and the waiter prods you to take something non-veg as it is their specialty & you tell him ‘I am vegeterian’ and he retorts, “So what Madam the chicken was totally vegetarian before being served here” π D π π
I think they have taken the concept of satvik diet too seriously..how does it matter if you cannot be on satvik diet at least your chicken is on satvik diet π .Chicken is fed with herbs(plants) that are grown by organic means (i.e. no genetic modification of seeds,no pesticide etc)
Ever since I broke open an egg and two yolks oozed out I am freaked out. I now only buy large eggs compared to the XL ones and I never knew eggs came in sizes! This is the first I’m seeing of herbal eggs. Maybe ‘organic’ isn’t the catch word anymore.

Yes, but that would be organic, free range eggs, herbal organic is what I don’t understand. I’ve never heard of that before
I’m seeing this for the first time! π
π thank god, I’m not the only one:)
Herbal eggs!! Sounds totally in contrast to each other!! π Err…maybe they discovered a new genetically modified species???
hyuk hyuk!
On a positive note, people more sensible than me have provided the answer to it! π
π It does sound ridiculous, doesn’t it?

π That sure sounds likely π Welcome here, Runa!
heights of marketing!
I know!
Trust no certificate of Organic in India !!! For that matter anywhere in the world… the certifying process is very very murky !!!!!
In any case the herbal eggs… sounds completely xcrazy !
π it does sound rather dubious, doesn’t it? I remember we had once discussed this whole organic thingy.
Ever since I broke open an egg and two yolks oozed out I am freaked out. I now only buy large eggs compared to the XL ones and I never knew eggs came in sizes! This is the first I’m seeing of herbal eggs. Maybe ‘organic’ isn’t the catch word anymore.
Welcome here, Zarine. I have seen eggs in different sizes abroad. But this is the first I heard of ‘herbal’ eggs:)
Another ploy to charge an exorbitant price? Saw these as well and the price was more than double of the normal ones, if I remember right.
That seems to be the case, Bindu. Can’t understand this herbal thing. I guess people fall for anything ‘herbal’!
Dont know what I means, but it reads funnnny!
I know:) Long time, Mandira, how have you been?
This sounds wired… I’d rather stick to the normal eggs… They aren’t that bad after all π
It is weird.. I guess, all this is just to increase the rate of the eggs..
