Breaks of all sorts…

Term break time again! And two weeks at that! Torture, I tell you!

And I don’t even have the luxury of turning to my laptop for comfort! It had to go and get broken at the right time.

Even the weather seems jinxed against me. Last week we had glorious spring, summer weather. Absolutely gorgeous. It felt like summer had come early.

Only for it all to change overnight. So we are back to grey skies and cold, cold weather. Not just cold, they are even predicting snow! Just in time for the Easter holidays.

We are now, back to checking weather every 5 mins, in the vain hope that something will change – for the better. But knowing our luck – California and Florida hit record lows when we visited, I don’t have much hope.

The sad weather also means that all our plans to be outdoors is now out of question. We do plan to do some gardening though. We have some sunflower seeds waiting to get planted.

I do have a lot to talk about, but can’t type on the phone anymore. I so need a tablet πŸ™‚ Did I tell you that daughter is in love with the iPad? Well, she came across one in a shop, and ever since, all she wants is a iPad. Now, she has resigned herself to the fact that she isn’t getting one, so she ‘plays’ with it in malls or shopping centres where they try to lure us into buying one.

So how have you all been? Weather better at your end?

  1. Oh weather is just gorgeous here what with spring and rain taking their turns to entertain us πŸ˜›

πŸ˜† Poohi sounds just like Sammy who tries to get his hands on the iPad in any store. I have told him he can buy one when he gets a job and the boy is happy thinking that someone will be kind enough to pay him $500 for helping them to get their groceries πŸ™„

  2. Awwww! big hugs..but arent you used to the weather fluctuation in UK..I sure find the cold depressing there πŸ™‚

We still find it depressing 😦 Esp when it is holiday time and we had planned lots of outdoor activities.
Enjoy the Easter break and go ahead and buy that I Pad na…you can use it and then give it to Poohi when she does something nice… πŸ™‚

iPad – is being thought on – although there is very little chance of Poohi getting it to play with πŸ™‚ I am a mean mother – electronic gadgets are not exactly toys, no πŸ™‚

    • I agree…totally agree..it doesnt make you a mean mother..it makes you a sensible mother…I dont let R touch the laptop at home…she is allowed to view videos etc once in a while..but absolutely no touching unless RD or I are around! and even if she touches its like just the space key or something….

  3. Enjoy the term break with Poohi. Hope the weather improves at your side of the world…
Here’s sending some bright sunshine your way πŸ™‚ Its too hot here 😦

  4. Aww Poohikutty wants a iPad πŸ™‚ WTG!
I think weather like that is fun πŸ˜› Esp. now that all we know are sunny, hot, sweat et..al 😦

    • WTG? Yeah right πŸ™‚ No, if we do buy an iPad, she will certainly not get to play on it πŸ™‚

Weather like this is fun in a country which is hot enough atleast some times 😦 Here we get 2 days of sunshine and months of grey weather! And now it is expected to snow as well! Can you believe it!

  5. What do I say about weather here.. You know it all.
I am thinking all that time spent in the garden potting and sowing might just go in vain if ot snows.. And to top that no rain….

    WHats happened to ur laptop..

    • A malware set shop in mine – all sorted now. Fingers crossed.

The weather is horrid, isn’t it? We were hoping for a sunny Easter break and last week’s gorgeous weather did raise hopes!

  6. Weather is getting hotter by each passing day…..Have to wait till April 11th for summer break for kids.Followed by marriages and functions at relatives place…….

  7. Aiyoo!!!! This comment was meant for IHM’s blog. Please please reomove it.

    Done πŸ™‚

And I was thinking ki it must be a long break for you and to top it you can not go out. My full sympathies are with you!!! And she wants an I Pad? wow!!!! Vaise even I want a Kindle but not buying because I know it will be a waste of money and 2ndly as we have invested in a property I now need to Save Save & Save.

We are debating between buying an iPad or an Android tablet. Lets see what we end up with, finally πŸ™‚

  8. Enjoy the term break! πŸ™‚

The weather here is hot, humid and we keep sweating. Difficult to believe this is Bangalore. 😦 Hope the weather at both our places takes a turn for the better.

  9. by any chance did the US and UK handshake on weather matters? For all that brightness and shining last week the weather is now cheating us with wind and cold.. And all outdoor activities planned for spring break are collapsed now 😦 same pinch Smitha..

  10. lovely!! Enjoy Easter break with Poohi!! πŸ˜€
    iPad?! Lovely!! πŸ™‚

Here, the weather was brilliant till yesterday, from yesterday its been winter weather with cold, snow and rain!!

  11. Sending lots of sunshine your way for it is too bright and hot at my end of the world.
    Sunflower seeds sounds wonderful πŸ˜€
As far iPad….I too wanna buy one….but that’s a thought postponed indefinitely for the time being.
Hoping weather gets brighter for you for the upcoming Easter break πŸ˜€

  12. Hope things are better at your end, Smitha! we too are stuck with very fickle weather here and are pretty much indoors. Leaving for a short break soon but the eternal question always remains what kinds of clothes to pack with the weather changing every couple of hours!!

BTW, am planning to read a Jodi Picoult book, pretty inspired by your reviews and seems like she’s very popular author from all the other comments too!!

    • We had plans to go away for the weekend – but we are now reconsidering if it is worth going to a seaside place, when the weather is not the greatest. You have a great time.

Do let me know how you find Picoult’s books. Am reading another one of hers now.

So, what do you think?
