Actually make it very curious and very envious, of those people who manage to wear a little black dress, with no tights/stockings, high heels, and a little excuse of a jacket, and yet manage to drop off their kids at school, without dropping dead with hypothermia?
And this when most of us are wearing multiple layers, covered from top to toe, and still shivering, by the way. Not to mention that the temperatures are nearly touching zero, and it is a very, very frosty morning?
How do they manage it? We used to see people dressed like this in Leicester Square or Covent Garden, in London, but they clearly looked like they had alcohol to help them along. At nine in the morning, outside school, I doubt if the yummy mummies I mentioned earlier got any help from alcohol. Anyone here knows the secret?
And yes, winter is most certainly here.
Hee hee… I wonder the same too. Especially those folks who wear mini-skirts, but wrap a pretty pashmina around their shoulders?!!!!!!
I know! I so wish I could figure out how they manage it π ALl the layers I am forced to wear, makes me look really fat π¦
Btw, firstuuuu….. Will call u back once R goes to sleep Smiths!
Not a problem π
LOL I know I think they just get used to the cold, I once had a friend from US visiting us in dec in delhi and she went out with a small dress and I was like what? its cold and she said yes I have a jacket… baah π
Yes, that must be it π But even people who have lived here all their lives need warmer clothes to combat the cold π But some people, I can’t help be amazed π
Maybe they have very thick skin?
Ha ha ha gud one π
lol! Yes, probably! I just wish I could borrow it too π
He he may be beauty just wins over the cold-beast π π
Hd met a lady once who said wearing all those layers would hamper the beauty of her dress! And this ws when it was freezing cold in Manali! So there
That must be it π But you sure need a LOT of will power to dress like this π
Cold blooded ? Vampires ?
Vampires? You want me to be scared and cold during the school run π Goodness, I shall never be able to see that woman with out that doubt running through my head π
Or, they could have learned the ancient secret of keeping oneself warm by chewing on some herb or the other. It is said that the ascetics living in the Himalayas use this technique to survive in the harsh cold . π
Yummy mummies???
Post some pics Smitha!!! We need to see to believe! π
π I second that π
me toooooooooooooooooo….
Yeah right, Your request might just get me banned from the school grounds for ever π
just tell them about the handsome hunks for whom you are clicking the pics… if need be show them my pic… and they will be happy posing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! π
Eeks! Hitchu, Smithu is ur enemy is it? U will get her hit properly!
Yeah, yeah sure! Why don’t we do something else. How about one of you come here and take the pics π
Winter has set in there?? Has it started snowing too?? Post pics, Smitha, fast fast!
Winter has set in here, but no snow yet. We wait for snow, until it happens, and then wonder, why? Why did we ever think that snow would be fun π
As for secret, I’m as curious to know as you. So let me know when you find out π
Will do , Deeps π
LOL!!! Good question π I keep asking this when I see a bollywood movie where the hero is wearing an overcoat and the heroine wud be either in a LBD or a sleeveless blouse and a sheer saree π
That is something I could never ever understand! Defies logic! I feel so sorry for the poor ladies! Here I also see some men in shorts π
all that white could be salt and not snow !
That, for sure, is a possibility!
As Smita says, I was also wondering why this discrimination between heroes and heroines?!
Me too! I could never understand the logic behind this. I just end up feeling sorry for all those actresses π¦
Those ladies must be freezing inside and not outside!
That must be it π
i guess it is just getting used to it … i expected it to be much colder than it actually was , so while my friend was decked in layers, i just had my 100 Rs shawl and a jacket … and was not cold at all …. I was surprised too, as I had grown up in a v hot/humid place where temp never went below 25, and i used to find the 21 deg a.c. at office chilly …. surprising how our body adapts !!!!
Welcome here Deepa. Yes, it is a matter of getting used to it, as well, but when only one or two people are dressed like that – it does make you wonder, doesn’t it π
Waiting for the snow pics… Smiths…
Invisible winter wear π
No snow yet, PNA! Just frost π¦ Will post as soon as it snows here. Here are some of last year’s snow – https://wordsndreamz.wordpress.com/2010/01/08/snow-clad-splendour/
π
And talk about the actresses who wear short dresses and carry sexy [almost lingerie look alike] blouses in the scenes where the hero is well coated with fur and what not π But hey at least they’re getting paid for the show off there…what are the real life women getting ?? π
Oh yes! I can never ever understand that! And what irks me is that the actresses seem to be fine doing scenes like this? Doesn’t it make them mad? Yes, they are getting paid to do that.. As for real life women – it beats me – unless the genuinely don’t feel cold!
These posts really makes me sad Smitha.. I am dying to watch the snow and play in it… but here its only raining π¦ π¦
No snow yet – just frost π¦ All that does is make everything slippery and dangerous π¦

will be great to see the pics
sm, I did not take any pics π¦
how low does temperature go over at your city?
It averages between 2 and 5 deg Celsius – daytime in Winter. It is a little colder at night.
if u had some provided picture samples,i could have atleast done a case study! π
Such a tragedy that I am not as brave as Saks to go around taking pics of yummy mummies π
All the men commenting here seem to have the same opinion! Except for Vimmuuu π
Smithu the answer to your question lies here itself! π When men like Hitchy, Brat, Vimmu etc stare at these yummy mommies π‘ , all that heat from their eyes end up in thawing those poor little dress wearing damsels to the bone
That must be it π ANd it seems so very effective too π
Ps: @ Brat dai you and your case study! π‘ last time you did that someone made you a father through the internet remember? πΏ π
God! How did that happen! Please to tell the rest of us:)
ooooooooooohh now thats a good answer.. I need to ask these guys how do they manage such WARM GLARE.. am i missing something here π
Whatttttt π―
@bikram
Its called Heat vision, the same stuff Mr Superman uses! But ours is invisible like microwaves! π
If only Manmohan Singh knew this! He would not have wasted his time romancing Bush for the Nuclear Bill! He could have just lined up all the jobless youth in India π
π Oh MicroBrat how many…how many mommies did you manage to thaw with that scary thavala eyes? π―
wait i will be give u a detailed presentation of my findings exclusively for this blog!!
Behold the answer u were all looking for!!!
Tadaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
LOL! So is your case study all done – without those pictures?
Ada Paavi!! I am gonna seek Sags help to sue both you and Superman for stealing my research findings π‘ πΏ I have tons of photos of men glaring, staring etc at women to prove my point against you cape less non heroes π
Oh my God Smitha you gotta read this post of mine : http://redliquidflow.blogspot.com/2009/02/to.html
It is exactly what I have wondered about π If you ever figure out, pass on the secret to me.
I knew you would understand π It amazes me when I see people dressed like this π Will hop over to yours.
Yummy mummies and drooling daddies π
What all kids these days got to see first thing in the morning! π π π
LOL! Am not sure if the kids even notice all this π They are far too busy saying Hi’s and running to their friends π
You dimwit ! this is supposed to be a photo post !!!!!!! where is the pic ??????// did you forget to upload it ???
πΏ
USA little black dress mommies chalega? π I can risk my life by going around clicking pics to make a old man happy on his bday
hey mera birthday chala gaya.. do i setill get to be happy … wink wink fingers crossed π
LOL do that Saksh π
Saksh – now that is being a very good friend π ‘Old Man’ – I wonder if he noticed that after reading about LBDs in your comment π
Sharma karo!
You want me to get banned for life from here π
I wonder too. I guess they just have a body chemistry that handles it π
Guess they do. They must – to be able to manage without all those warm layers.
LOL… Good question… I don’t know the answer but I think actresses can answer this question better and you know why… π
Oh yeah π But they are getting paid for it π Am sure that must make up for any discomfort π
Their motto must be to “grin and bare it”…I mean “bear it” I guess π
LOL @’grin and bare it’
I will still go with Alcohol Smi…. and if not, she must be super duper used to the cold climate!
They must be used to it – I would not like to think that alcohol would be in the question so early in the morning π
This might be just the individual body mechanism. Some people tend to have better adaptivity to extreme cold than rest. Otherwise why will some people wear sweaters in chennai weather too π while some yummmy mummies you mentioned bares it all π
There has to be some body mechanism which allows them to survive the cold.
Sweaters in Chennai weather! LOL! That is even more unbelievable than yummy mummies not wearing coats π
I wonder the same! How can you wear a mini skirt when its freezing?
So I am not alone π A lot of you guys seem to have the same doubt π
Smithu I would have loved to take the pain to answer your question by undergoing the experiment on myself. But am sure that will end up in a slight change in my status which will be “Single and not left in a state to mingle” π₯
LOL! Better still – come here to tke those pics. Tell Mr B that you have been commissioned by Count Bratula to help with his ‘case study’ π
Even i wonder in movie songs which is picturised in snow the actress wears less clothes, but for them they have heaters once the shot is done they go and sit near the heaters.
Slight change in the season i wear sweater and make kids also wear it.
I don’t wear sweaters at the slightest climate change – but I definitely need my layers of clothing when the temp starts nearing zero π Poohi is totally immune. If she has her way, she will discard her coats and everything and wear a t-shirt with a skirt π
women dont feel COLD.. did you not know that .. and offcourse even if they do , they ahve to show off the new jacket or the new shoes etc etc
Then why, why, why was I not given those genes??? π¦
I always wanted to ask this question and now that you put a article i do need o ask it DO women not feel the cold..
I certainly feel the cold – and I am a woman too π
the other night i was working on broad street in birmingham and I was wishing i had another layer of clothes on me, i alreayd had shirt-fleece-vest-floruscent jacket.. and i was still cold ..
but there were ladies with as good as nothing on and it seemed they were pretty fine with it .. π
At night, I am convinced that alcohol does help π Especially in this country π
winters are here the car had ice , deicer coming to use now π
Oh yes it is! The roads and the pathways are all icy and slippery π¦
Lol! Well, at the place I was at previously, average temperatures during the day ran around -10 to 15F (-20 to 26C). At this current city, temperatures are like at your place – around 2 to 5C during the day mostly. I don’t bundle myself up in heavy coats and boots any longer, just a pair of jeans and a fleece is enough. Going by that logic, maybe these ladies you mention are from the poles? π
That must be it π They must be from one of the poles π
I sooo know wht u mean … here I was shuddering as I went to work at Seoul and there had chinks all over perfectly dressed as if it wear summer…
It made me wonder where secretly they have invented electrical heating in underwear and I am blissfully unaware π
Seriously π Electrically heated underwear is a great idea, Sags π You should patent it π
They are definitely high on something my friend. And yes London is def. much more fashion conscious than happy and casual suburban America!!! What to wear while dropping my kids to school was something I never thought I would mull over!!!
I still don’t – mull over what to wear π Am sure I fit very well into the ‘slummy mummy’ category π Long time Chrysalis π
no clue.. i just layer up the clothes when the temperature dips.. its getting cold in delhi … but of course its not as cold as it is in ur place…and thank god for that.. i’d simply d-i-e in the winter otherwise!
I need all the layers I can get π I forgot my gloves when I went to pick up Poohi today, and I nearly died π¦
