Questionable fitness levels is …

.. what comes to mind when on the way to daughter’s nursery, pushing the buggy,Β  you get over taken, effortlessly by a woman, immaculately dressed to work, pushing a buggy and wearing high heels!

Sneaker clad me, with all my huffing and puffing was no match for her.

I think I looked like a baby elephant, trying hard to catch up with an elegant gazelle!

Time to spend some quality time with that cross-trainer, don’t you think? Or better still, change timing so that I could avoid meeting that gazelle on way to the nursery?

    That lady had a baby 😦 She was pushing a baby in a buggy 😦 sob sob! And yet she managed to overtake me 😦

  4. lol @ changing timing. But serious advice. Quit being in denial join a gym or dance class. Cross trainer is good but do you’ve the self discipline for it? I didn’t have it so joined aerobics and these days am busy gathering compliments for my weight loss πŸ˜‰

    I know.. I really need the exercise to get fit again.. I check my BMI – and I am well within range – so I need to get my energy back again. I used to go for these classes and used the gym regularly before I had my daughter – now it becomes difficult to schedule it.. Maybe, I could start again once she starts school in september.

  5. Smitha this is what was going in my mind until i started my dieting,i feel light now and i am sure i would have shredded weight πŸ™‚ Honestly i feel better now.

    Wow! I checked my weight – that is in control πŸ™‚ It is just that I have stopped been as active as I used to be.. I used to walk a min of 2 miles a day when we were in London – here I hardly walk :(So my walking speed has gone down and I am feeling all flabby 😦

    Yesterday after reading sandhya’s post i went and had sweets.

  6. Love to work out and can sense the difference when I don’t. But if it makes you feel any better the gazelle in high heels (a complete no no ) and pushing a stroller…must have be suffering from a killer back ache and sore feet….if thats her regular jig.

    I know! I saw her again – so it does look like her regular jig. And it is quite common here – people run on heels! I cannot imagine how they can manage it!

    You stick to your sneakers and huffing and puffing …soon you will be huffing and puffing less and will overtake the Gazelle …with a stronger back and painless feet πŸ™‚

    That is what I would prefer too πŸ™‚

    immaculately dressed? Pah! she’s a conformist! and has no better work….we are rebels smithu….we don’t iron our clothes and we don;t comb our hair…coz we have more pressing issues to look into.
    And in spite of that..we still look PWETTY!!!! 😎 😎

    High heels? AHA! see, her bak is gonna give way soon….while us sneaker donning athletes will be sprinting about even in our late 80s!

  11. Baby elephant and whale are similar, Smitha. By heart the whale story and tell everyone who criticize you, OK?!!!

    Solilo advised Saritha – a tsp.honey and a tsp.lemon juice in luke warm water, first thing in the morning and it works. Then do the exercise. Or go for brisk long walks. If you have learnt Soorya namaskara – do 12 namaskaraas. Start with 3 and go upto 12. That is best. Even now I am doing upto 5 after coming back from morning walks. I take biscuits and coffee (after coming back from walk) and both my husband and I do it. We are not young to do 12 anymore!

    I am short – Just 4ft. 11 1/2″! If I put on weight, everyone will roll me on the floor ROFL!!!!

    Or second option is there!!! Or Miss M’s idea is there! Don’t worry, be happy!!!

  14. Just get urself some of those things they make a horse wear on its eyes while on race. You will not only skip seeing the gazelle but might end up starting a trend…aww Smithu’s Eye Trainers for a youthful skinny feeling without any diet.

  15. hahaha… atleast u were able to get rid of the stain with hairspray. You have to look at my couch. My son luves to rub the colored sugar paste on it. I don’t even remember which color it was when I got it./ Also he luves to paint on the walls with sharpie and crayons. I had to use a lot of elbow grease and beleive it or not toilet bowl cleaner to get rid of the marks[ofcourse new toiled bowl cleaner,not the used one hehe…..:).

  16. i dont care about High Heels… i love baby elephant! i really do… (even the real 4 legged ones) High Heels dint sound all that cool to me.. but if its a health concern, then go all out and spend quality time with that cross-trainer. πŸ™‚

  17. don’t worry smitha chechi [:D] ……..Main Hoon Na…. appoint me as your fitness trainer…just kidding [:)]……….install a treadmill in your apartment or go for jogging , walking or cycling with your husband daily………

    We have a cross trainer – but using it is the issue πŸ™‚ It has got converted into a coat rack πŸ™‚

  18. I totally resonate here!! cannot for the life of me understand how these utterly in-shape creatures manage that swift gait in those stilletoes.. I just keep looking at them till I make my hubby ashamed of my ogling! The poor me in sneakers and yet with an ungainly gait!!

    Exactly my problem! I can’t understand how they manage it! I get a foot ache looking at them prancing around in high heels

  20. πŸ™‚ No worries..Try to walk faster,i mean in a faster pace..when you sweat,you will lose much calories…

    That is what I am aiming at πŸ™‚

    I don’t know how,but i lost much weight after coming to kerala..Now im back to my college-days weight-58kg..Im so happy,now i can eat a lot with peace of mind.. πŸ™‚

    That happens to me too – I lose weight when I go home.. Probably coz I end up more energetic there πŸ™‚

    But as IHM and Indy and others have said, stick to your sneakers and the huffing and puffing… πŸ™‚ You’ll soon be whistling, dont worry πŸ™‚

    That is certainly what I am hoping for.

  22. ROFL, Smitha!! That description would suit me perfectly! Only, I won’t be a ‘baby’ elephant, but a huge giant one πŸ™‚ Where in the UK are u? Ever pass by Docklands?


    I used to live in London – Stratford – until last year – now in Leeds πŸ™‚ And yes Docklands used to be a regular haunt πŸ™‚ Used to log getting on the DLR and just going till the end of the line.. getting off at Canary Wharf and window shopping or just eating out πŸ™‚ Are you in the uk- docklands?
