  5. Hey have been meaning to ask you for a while. Have you read Jaya by Aniruddha Pattanaik? If not, you must, Smits. I know how much you love history, so I have a feeling you may like it :) . I’m not much of a lover of historical fiction but I loved this book. It made for a fascinating read.

  6. I noticed Room by Emma Donoghue… I loved this book too. Loved the relationship the child and the mother had, loved her hope and the author’s imagination. Did you review this book in a post?

    • I absolutely loved the book, IHM! I haven’t reviewed it – never got around to doing it – but it is one book which will stay with me for a while.

  7. So how did you like ‘The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood ‘ did you read it on Kindle? I downloaded the Kindle apps for Android on my phone today, thought it’s 4.3 inch screen is small, but I’d give it a try.

    • It was a heart-wrenching read. And actually scary , that it could so easily be implemented if some maniacs gain power in any country.. Did not read it on the Kindle, IHM. Husband has taken over my kindle – I am still with the good old books. Got this from the library here. Waiting for the next version of Kindle to buy it for myself.

  9. hi Smitha,
First time here. I am impressed by the number of books you have listed here. . I am picking up a few books based on your suggestion. Will get back to you on how I liked them. Thanks for furnishing the review and the list..:-)

    • You have read the book that I want to read the most :) I have read three other books by her. Out of them,I Iiked ‘Afterwards’ the most. The others are alright, nothing great – in my opinion.

  10. Excellent listing. You are an avid reader for sure! Thanks for sharing this list – i have looked at amazon reviews of some of the books that you have listed and planning to order them.
BTW, i too just loved “the room” – i couldn’t stop tears rolling down my cheeks! Its so fluid, so powerful and so gripping!

So, what do you think?
